Tennis is a poetry of footwork, concentration, stamina, and grunts.

Started watching tennis games recently, and it took just one game to fall in love with Roger Federer's game (chef kiss). Federer's game is the classical tennis master class. The way he moves across the court and owns every inch of it, it feels like he's teleporting to the exact location where the ball would be. Federer plays an effortlessly amazing game(trust me it's not how it looks like. it's one of the most challenging games) it seems like anyone can become a professional tennis player like him. That is why the masters of games who are effortlessly amazing become role models for the next generation.
I feel like I missed out on most of the tennis legacy as Federer and recently Nadal retired from professional tennis(okay, I only know those big names along with Medvedev, Sinner, Zverev, and the OG Serena Williams). I will catch up with games next year, and I'm totally excited to watch all the grand slam tournaments.
To play tennis, one must master forehand, backhand, and serve. You can get started with playing tennis if you learn these techniques. That's not enough to play good tennis though. The eyesight and concentration of a predator with the ball as your prey are very important- to keep track of and anticipate the ball's location and to pre-move the way you hold and grip your racket, to glide racket location either to your right or left, to hit the ball either forehand or backhand.
The most important part is not hitting the ball, it's hitting the ball inside the court with maximum speed. I was stunned at how fast tennis players hit the ball during service. It can go up to 163 mph (around 260 kmph). Let's take a moment to appreciate the sheer beauty of serving an ace and returning a serve in professional tennis.
The grunting of players while hitting the ball is the cherry on top. It feels exhilarating and also builds tension in the game.
The funniest thing about tennis matches is how the audience moves their heads in synchrony with the movement of the ball, like the simple harmonic motion of a simple pendulum.
love all!
