You don't need a reason to watch One Piece. You Just watch it. 

One Piece is an anime which will force you to push beyond your limits. The resilience and moreover the overall personalities of the characters is sure to inspire you to become a better version of yourself. You will definitely enjoy watching One Piece cause the stories of the characters are very much relatable. 

One Piece started streaming for the first time in 1999.Early on,you should not expect top-notch animation(high fps) that you can see around the 500th episode. The retro animations have their own thing. They are "top-notch" in their own way. Though these initial episodes don't have flashy graphics, the story compensates that deficiency. The Fights are at just another level. The level of innovation and creativity Oda-sensei used to level-up each character is extraordinary. You start to notice the creativity in the charater development at 600+ episodes. All dots seem to connect and take a form. The story just evolves rapidly. In every arc Oda-sensei added lots of mysteries and he makes it seem like a rollercoaster ride. As an average person, I would have never thought of things Oda-sensei wrote in One Piece. One Piece is a Work of Art and you will definitely appreciate it if you watch or read manga of One Piece.

The humour in One Piece is top-notch. You get to see the dumbest things you ever came across to date, It's not like the dumbness is the humour, most of the jokes are authentic. The characters are designed so that most of their actions have a tint of humour.

The connections between the chapters are just unbelievable. This is the most effective way to embrace the mystery of a story in writing and Oda-sensei makes it seem unreal. You get flashbacks of stories while watching One Piece. This makes One Piece stand out as the viewer retains most of the story. It creates a relation between the story and the viewer(this element of story telling retains viewers, as each episode is released on every Sunday its important to maintain a connection between the viewer and the story).

One Piece in a way mocks narrow-minded people. It kinda tries to show you things you didn't know are doable. It compels viewers to come out of their comfort zone and try out things they have been planning to do(for ages). The Perseverance of the characters and the efforts they put into their dreams seem just unreal. Though they never fail to motivate you. It pulls viewers from well to an adventure on sea.

One Piece is full of emotions. You'll laugh, feel enraged and sometimes you would feel like you wanna jump into the screen and be a part of the story(Not replace a character though(originality)).

Most of One Piece's arcs locations seem like a child's fantasies are taking a solid shape. This includes only the set-up of the stories, but the stories are so good that a person of any age will enjoy watching it.

It is not only Wholesome but also shows Evil side of society(and people in general). The real meaning of freedom and power. You get to know a lot of things when you closely observe everything in
