5 centimeters per second is a work of art. Every frame is dreamy and makes you feel like you wanna stare at them forever. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen till the end. The immersive sound effects and subtle colors are calming and give you eternal bliss. The narration and the sequence of stories are well put. You get to see the pinnacle of perfection. The way writer conveyed things indirectly is soo good that you notice them immediately and yet they take you by an awww.
Some stories are meant for sharing feelings. This is one among them. This movie shows how love eventually leads to pain and suffering.
The storyline is simple and so are the characters. It's the emotions in every frame that complete the essence of the movie. I don't have words to appreciate this anime, I wonder how they made such a wonderful movie with a simple plot.
The sound effects and dialogues are as if you are listening to a Lofi-playlist, if I had to describe it more accurately it's ASMR of calming sounds mixed so well that you can play this anime in the background when you are reading.
My favorite line from this anime is "When did I start writing mails addressed to no one". This line highlights the loneliness of the protagonist.
As always you don't need a reason to watch this anime. If you are into gore anime and want a break from violence (and not pain), I strongly recommend you watch this anime.
